Tablet Donations

Leon's Roar is always looking for tablet donations. The tablets must be new due to hospital regulations involving the safety of the patients. The only exception is Apple devices; we accept used IPads, computers, IPhones, and Apple Watches. If you would like to donate or have any questions, please feel free to contact us and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

About The Founder

My name is Sara Kaufman, and I started up a charity called Leon's Roar in honor of my father, Leon Kaufman. Leon was a friend, scientist, partner, husband, father, and so much more. At the age of five, l lost my father due to Colon Cancer. I was very young, so I did not realize that that event would change my life, forever. At the age of ten, I wanted to honor "Daddy" in a special way. At the age of eleven, I put this plan into motion. Now, at the age of 17, I am working hard to keep growing the charity and helping people. Please come help me roar up to Cancer!

Show Your Roar Challenge!

Once you donate to Leon's Roar, you are eligible to participate in the Show Your Roar Challenge. Just make a creative video of your loudest roar, post it on Youtube, and send it to us! We will then post the video on our Youtube channel. "Award winning" videos will go down below. Happy roaring!

About Leon's Roar

Leon's Roar is on a mission to help cancer patients reconnect with the world around them. We give them iPads and tablets that allow them to return to some normalcy through online education programs, "work from home" opportunities, support groups, coping mechanisms, platforms that let them communicate with family members, and more. Having access to online information about their treatments also allows them to advocate for their needs with hospital staff, encouraging a stronger healthcare worker to patient relationship. These benefits aid their mental health, enabling them to breach the barrier between hospitals and the rest of the world.

Chapters

Thus far, the Leon's Roar has been nearly entirely student-led; this is possible because of our chapter system. Chapters begin with a school club, team, or other organization. They are assigned a mentor chapter that will guide them through each step of their first "donation trip." With their mentor chapter, they run fundraisers, purchase tablets with the money they raised, and make a "donation trip," where they deliver those devices to a hospital. After their mentee periods, the chapter becomes a mentor to one new group. This unique system enables students to acquire skills that help the students gain confidence and often translate to other elements of their lives.
